Bio
Joshua Seidner is an artist, actor and writer based in New York City. He received his BA from Bard College in 2002 and has performed in projects with MoMA; PS1/WPS1; Prospect.1 Biennial; Art Production Fund; The Sundance Channel; British Film Council; and PERFORMA, among others. He has served as Editor of USELESS Magazine; established and operated USA, a private rec/performance space on the Lower East Side; and worked collaboratively with a multitude of artists in New York and abroad on projects ranging from video pieces to events, the most recent of which includes an emerging program of durational performances with art collective Blvck America that speak to transformative club-culture.
As of 2008, Joshua has begun to develop multi-disciplinary work that focuses on hyper-masculinity, sport, and shifting immigrant identity. He was an Artist-in-Resident at The Watermill Center for his original play, POWDERBURN, which is currently in development and was most recently read with New York Theatre Workshop. In addition, he has created and performed an ongoing series of site-specific, live installations that explore spectacle in synthetic environments, some of which have been presented in conjunction with Esquire Magazine, BOMB Magazine, Marlborough Chelsea Gallery, and P.P.O.W. Gallery, among others.
